Jamie and Aaron

I had the pleasure of assisting Jamie with her destination wedding in Arizona recently. Her and her now husband Aaron live in the Grand Cayman Islands but due to having many family members in Canada and a Mom that had a beautiful home in Fountain Hills they decided to marry here. Their Ceremony was at the CopperWynd Resort in Fountain Hills.

After the ceremony they were escorted to the reception in a 1916 Rolls Royce. It was rumored to have been worth one million dollars. It was driven on a trailer from San Diego especially for their wedding by a special family friend. What a friend!

Their next stop was to the Hyatt Regency Scottsdale at Gainey Ranch for gondola rides, cocktails and delectable lobster tail. It as an emotional reception where the guests had the chance to pop open "crackers" and ask questions about the bride and groom. There were many gut wrenching laughs to be had.

To Jamie and Aaron: May you have a life filled with love, laughter and friendship. Thank you so much for allowing us to be a part of your special day.

My One Year Wedding Anniversary

So my husband and I spent the weekend at the beautiful Caleo Resort and Spa two weekends ago to celebrate our first one year anniversary. It came as a shock and was a sort of comic relief of how we ended up there...basically we were both trying to surprise each other and we picked the same place to do it at. Another story to tell for sure. :) Anyhow I walked into a beautiful suite and there lay the most beautiful arrangement of flowers. They were filled with so much color and and were so vibrant and the aroma was unbelievable. I wish I could have fresh flowers delivered to my home everyday. Wouldn't that be wonderful!?

Another really neat experience about the weekend was the fact that a Baker that made our cake for our wedding recreated the topper and had it delivered to the resort. I tell ya, we ate the whole cake that weekend. It was so delicious. Thank you P.J. at La Dolce Pesca!

To top it off and to relive our wedding day we got to witness (hiding from our balcony) another couple becoming united. It was a beautiful ceremony and it made me really be grateful for the opportunity to help brides on their own wedding day. Marriage is such an amazing day filled with so much love and honor....I am just so blessed to be a part of it... my own marriage to my wonderful husband and the planning and execution process with my breathtaking brides. Thank you for including me on YOUR wedding day.

Something Close To My Heart

So a few months ago I was asked by a dear friend and amazing community advocate, if I would donate my time and Chair an auction committee for a non profit organization called Florence Crittenton. The woman that asked me to come on board knew my time was precious and packed with events but knew I would fall in love with the organization and invited me for a tour of the agency. Upon my tour I was particularly touched by a young girl who lived in one of the on site group homes... let's call her Dani. Dani had come from such a hard childhood and was now growing into a tremendously powerful and positive young woman. Due to her determination and aspirations to be a success with the help of Florence Crittenton she will graduate this spring from high school with aspirations for college. Without going into to much detail this young lady came from a very bad place and really if it hadn't been for Florence Crittenton opening a new door with amazing opportunity, she would no doubt be locked up or a drug addict, or even worse, dead. It brought immediate tears to my eyes (and still does) as I heard her story of struggle and survival. She said, "I was a loser with no future or dreams until I came to Florence Crittenton". She went on and on about how the agency changed her life and how she will forever be affected by the teachers, peers, leaders, volunteers and donors that opened the door for a new life. So needless to say, after the tour and lots of tears of joy, I decided to help in this crusade of assisting with the auction fundraiser. I would like to invite you to be involved. Whether it be donating an auction item, buying a ticket and attending or being a sponsor...it is an opportunity for your involvement and an investment in our future.
