Breathtaking Views from "Different Pointe of View" Restaurant

Yesterday I visited the Different Pointe of View restaurant at the Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs Resort in Phoenix. They just did over $750,000 of recent enhancements to the restaurant and it is expected that the classic venue is going to be a huge local and regional wedding destination. Whether you are inside the restaurant where there are floor to ceiling windows or on the outdoor patio, you get to see 360 degrees of breathtaking views. There was a wedding ceremony set up on the outdoor patio yesterday (picture above) which made the vision of a wedding there more of a reality. What a great atmosphere for a wedding!

Things That You "Don't" Want to Happen at Your Wedding

No open flames near flowers
No diving into pools
No dancing on tables
No heavy drinking the night before

Some of the most funny, but horrific things happen at weddings. Just hope that none of these happen on your big day!

We Got Love for the "Life" Ladies

To show my appreciation for the hard work that all of my ladies have done for me this past year, I decided to treat them to a fun day out. Joey Miller was our chauffeur for the night and picked up the ladies in our Life Design “party van” which was lavished with pink streamers. The ladies were served sparkling cider when they were picked up and enjoyed songs that our DJ (me) had picked out. We got pedicures at Le Arizona Nails in Ahwatukee where Joey and Victoria Miller served the ladies champagne and chocolates as they were being pampered. Following the pedicures we went to dinner at CafĂ© Boa in Ahwatukee, and the food was amazing! After dinner we attended the movie “27 Dresses” at the AMC Ahwatukee 24 Theaters to end the night. It’s always fun with the “Life” ladies, thanks for all of your help!

Photography by Verdi and Our Trip to Royal Palms

We recently met with new to the area photographers named Photography by Verdi at the Royal Palms Resort and Spa. They are a husband and wife photography team based out of New York and Arizona. They have had a studio in New York but recently moved to Arizona to open another studio and live here for about six months out of every year. The couple has photographed everything from models for print and parties for celebrity clientele, to family and wedding photos. They said they like to capture shots that are filled with expression. They capture real, emotional moments with their photos. These two are a great pair, extremely friendly and easy to talk to and be around. You can just tell by being around them that they would do a magnificent job connecting with clients to capture their vision for their wedding.

After we met with Photography by Verdi we ate lunch at the restaurant located at the Royal Palms, T. Cook’s Dining. T. Cook’s Dining was recently voted #1 Phoenix restaurant by ‘Zagat’s Top US Hotel and Restaurant Guide.’ The food was amazing! We ordered Mediterranean Tapas where you could design your own personal dish by choosing four different entrees. The serving size was smaller than most restaurants but it was just the right amount to food to fill you up. We highly recommend this restaurant for its elegant atmosphere and its delicious dishes!

Meeting Event Designer Scott Corridan

A few weeks ago we attended a workshop hosted by Phoenix Bride and Groom Magazine and the main feature of the workshop was event designer Scott Corridan with Corridan & Company. This workshop was awesome; it was filled with exceptional information. Scott talked about your relationships with your clients, professional/friendly body language with clients, and how to produce a fabulous event. Scott was an amazing speaker and it was very apparent that he puts massive amounts of enthusiasm into making the perfect event for his client!

The workshop was held at a dynamic and original venue called
Los Cedros. (btw, the website does not do it justice) If you are into a clean high equestrian look and feel with an amazing selection of top horses and beautiful Arizona desert surroundings then you have to make an appointment for a site visit. I envision a romantic intimate wedding there; A true Arabian Night.

During our visit they gave the guests an outstanding horse show showcasing some of their students on the most beautiful stallions.

Here are a few pictures from how the design team brought in a tent and furntiure onto the venue's grounds. They brought in my favorite tent company: Raj Tents. Amazing!

But Are Your Shoes Autographed?

I have an amazing client that loves every aspect of planning her wedding even down to picking out the right pair of shoes to be worn on her special day. Pink is her favorite color and we are incorporating it into the design of her wedding in all aspects possible with great chicness and maturity. She wrote me this morning the cutesiest story that I just had to share with my readers. It oozes of her enthusiastic personality and an ever so loving and just as fun fiancé.

Cicely:

Okay, so you remember the amazing hot pink Christian Louboutin wedding shoes that I bought for the wedding? Well, Ryan and I were trying to decide what to do today, and I was like, "Let's go to the mall!" He was cool with that, as he always is, and when we walked into Neiman's, we saw this line of ladies in the shoe department, with a photographer at the head of the line. We walked over, and I looked down at their shoes - they were all wearing Louboutins! I love his shoes (the black ones of mine that you like are his as well), so I notice when people have them on, and I rarely see them out. A salesman came over and asked if he could help us, and I said, "Is there an event going on? Why are all of these ladies wearing Louboutins?" He says (GET THIS!), "He's here! Louboutin is here!" I kid you not, I grabbed his arm, and said, "NO." He said, "Yes! He's signing his shoes!"

Long story short, Ryan and I flew back home and grabbed the wedding shoes. They have now been signed: "For the big day C Louboutin"!!! :) :) :) He told me not to get pregnant before the wedding, or my feet would swell and the shoes wouldn't fit. :)

SO EXCITED!! And would you believe that the couple behind us was also having the bride's wedding shoes signed?? - Heather

Heather, love your stories, your energy, your passion for planning your wedding and the love that you and Ryan share for one another. Thank you for choosing me to be a part of it.

New Global Citizens

I want to congratulate a very good friend of mine, Courtney Klein. She founded an amazing organization called Youth Re:Action Corps about 2 years ago and as late yesterday afternoon it has merged with New Global Citizens.

Recently credited as one of the 20 women who will shape Arizona by 2020, Courtney is a dreamer, a fighter and a very very powerful woman not only in our community locally, but now globally.

When I connect with women who are dynamite as Courtney it empowers me to be more successful and have higher aspirations. I invite you to learn more about Courtney and her life blood: New Global Citizens. Get Involved, Donate, Spread the Word. These youth are truly our future and it's up to us to ignite their fire! Burn, baby Burn!

A little bit about how they roll: "New Global Citizen's mission is to mobilize young people in the United States to help solve the world's biggest problems. Our programs motivate high school students in the United States to ask "Why does half the world live in poverty? Why don't 1.2 billion people have access to clean water? Why do 1,200 children die every hour from preventable diseases?" Young people want answers and we want to be part of the solution."

Courtney- I love you lady. I am blessed to have you as a friend and a sister in Christ. Many blessings to you and your endearing efforts. With this major move comes so many more adventures. Remember to take time for yourself as you are the glue that keeps everything together. Don't forget your journal. With all that Life has to offer- Cicely

Super Bowl Parties were Super!

We had an awesome opportunity to help with two high-end celebrity Superbowl parties this past weekend. A party producer from Dallas, William Ekuroth with Vertical Sports Group, needed help to add some “special touches” to the design of his parties. The events were held at the Scottsdale Galleria, Friday night was Carmen Electra’s Superbowl party and Saturday night was John Travolta’s Superbowl party. We thought this was a great opportunity to do something different and jumped on the idea.

We decorated the entrance of the party with thousands of crystals and beads to create a rich elegant feeling as you walked into the party. We also draped black linen along the back of the entrance. Just to add extra detail we placed wax and glass vessels on the three levels of the venue that sat on the edge of the balconies. We lit the candles at night before the party started and it made the whole venue glow. We decorated all of the furniture for the event with hundreds of pillows, black for Friday, and white for Saturday. We also got the opportunity to work with a few of the alcohol sponsors Veuve Clicquot, Chandon, Belvedere.

It was quite the experience, and even though we had less than two weeks to pull everything together, the final result was amazing! Pictures from the Pros to come.

Private Dining Room for Two

Your first meal together as husband and wife can be an intimate, enjoyable dinner that affords you both some time to relax. After you sign your marriage license, you can dine in a private room decorated just for the two of you. You'll have a chance to reflect on the ceremony, discuss how great you both look, and marvel at what a wonderful day it has been thus far. You won't have to run from guest to guest or be interrupted by well-wishers while you are trying to enjoy your special dinner. Once you've eaten and taken some time to talk, you can make an event out of entering the reception room for the cutting of the wedding cake. Your guests will have enjoyed a wonderful meal and will cheer you on as you enter. It's the perfect time to start the party!

Yes, We Can! - Si, Se Puede!

I am spreading the word on behalf of a friend/associate of mine Len Gutman of Open Door Communications. I was hit hard by how powerful it was so I thought I would share with my readers.

From Len: "You probably already know I'm not shy about sharing my political views, so this email should come as no surprise on the eve of Super Tuesday. Tomorrow many of us have the chance to make a statement about the direction of our country -- even more of a statement than we did during the last mid-term elections. You may also know that I supported Dennis Kucinich in the early part of this race, yet when it came time for me to vote I did not so much what my heart told me but what me head told me -- I cast my early ballot for Barack Obama.
Obama represents the ONLY person left on either ticket that can fundamentally change the direction of our nation for the better. Folks can argue all they want about the war and tax cuts and all the other details of the race, but only Obama can galvanize the cross-party support America needs so desperately at this point in our history.
If you are unsure about whom to vote for tomorrow, please give Obama your strongest consideration. I've also passed along a link to a very neat little inspirational video about Omaba pulled together by some of his supporters. Enjoy, and if you already voted thank you and if you'd like please share this with your friends and family."

Yes, We Can! - Si, Se Puede!

Inspired by Barack Obama's 'Yes We Can' Speech.

It was a creed written into the founding documents that declared the destiny of a nation.

Yes we can.

It was whispered by slaves and abolitionists as they blazed a trail toward freedom.

Yes we can.

It was sung by immigrants as they struck out from distant shores and pioneers who pushed westward against an unforgiving wilderness.

Yes we can.

It was the call of workers who organized; women who reached for the ballots; a President who chose the moon as our new frontier; and a King who took us to the mountaintop and pointed the way to the Promised Land.

Yes we can to justice and equality.

Yes we can to opportunity and prosperity.

Yes we can heal this nation.

Yes we can repair this world.

Yes we can.

We know the battle ahead will be long, but always remember that no matter what obstacles stand in our way, nothing can stand in the way of the power of millions of voices calling for change. We have been told we cannot do this by a chorus of cynics...they will only grow louder and more dissonant ........... We've been asked to pause for a reality check.

We've been warned against offering the people of this nation false hope. But in the unlikely story that is America, there has never been anything false about hope.

Now the hopes of the little girl who goes to a crumbling school in Dillon are the same as the dreams of the boy who learns on the streets of LA; we will remember that there is something happening in America; that we are not as divided as our politics suggests; that we are one people; we are one nation; and together, we will begin the next great chapter in the American story with three words that will ring from coast to coast; from sea to shining sea --

Yes. We. Can.
