Table Top Decor & Confectionary Creations Competition

I love table decor and design. Those in our industry call it Tablescaping (at least I do) and this year's Event Elements competition is right around the corner. Last year, I had the chance to be involved and actually won first place within my element and I loved my experience so much last year that I jumped on the chance to be involved again. This year I would like to personally extend an invite for you to come check out this years event.

We invite you to join us at the 2nd Annual Event Elements - Confectionery Creations & Table Top Decor Competition featuring the styles - Retro, Contemporary, Traditional or Vintage.

My element this year is Retro. I am pretty confident that no one else would have thought of the direction I am going, but it's always exciting to see everyone's interpretation. Should be interesting for sure! Here is a hint: It's very fitting for our nations timing.

Here are all the details for the public viewing:

When: Monday, June 30, 2008
Where: JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort, 5350 E Marriott Dr Phoenix, AZ 85054
Time: 3:00 - 6:00 pm
Cost: $10 Per Person

See you there!

Tangerine Dreams after Party

It's a little hard to read the text but basically it's an after party for Docha Vida, a wedding walk in downtown Chandler. I wish I could attend because it is so fun and there are so many outstanding vendors involved. I will be away in California for a wedding so make sure to stop by and support the festivities. The above is an invitation to attend the after party at Inspirador. It starts at 9:00. Have fun and tell the Life Design's sent you.

Remember the Landslide Wedding

A few posts back I wrote about a wedding that almost was put to a hault due to a landslide happening 12 hours before the wedding day but with a lot of prayers everything worked out.

As promised, I did want to share a few pictures that the amazing talented Jane Jordan Photography team shot. The wedding was absolutely beautiful and we are so thrilled that everything worked out. Below is one of my favorites courtesy of JJ but if you click on their blog they have posted more.

Congrats to Adelita and Chris and thanks again for allowing Life Design Event Planning to be a part of it.

Claire & Michael

I was reviewing my blog and have realized that it would be a nice addition for me to add pictures of a few clients’ weddings I have had the superb opportunity to be involved with within the last few years. The first wedding that I will share with you was clients Claire & Michael and they were married June 2nd, 2007 at the stunning Four Seasons Resort in North Scottsdale. Claire was a wonderful and very creative bride to work with and it was a simple yet stunning event. Enjoy the pictures courtesy of David de Dios Photography.

Adelita & Chris

Jane Jordan Photography recently shot a very small wedding for a client of mine who is having two ceremonies; one in a church and the other at a venue. I just loved their pictures that I want to invite you all to check them out on the blog here. It was so beautiful.

Super Bowl Parties were Super!

We had an awesome opportunity to help with two high-end celebrity Superbowl parties this past weekend. A party producer from Dallas, William Ekuroth with Vertical Sports Group, needed help to add some “special touches” to the design of his parties. The events were held at the Scottsdale Galleria, Friday night was Carmen Electra’s Superbowl party and Saturday night was John Travolta’s Superbowl party. We thought this was a great opportunity to do something different and jumped on the idea.

We decorated the entrance of the party with thousands of crystals and beads to create a rich elegant feeling as you walked into the party. We also draped black linen along the back of the entrance. Just to add extra detail we placed wax and glass vessels on the three levels of the venue that sat on the edge of the balconies. We lit the candles at night before the party started and it made the whole venue glow. We decorated all of the furniture for the event with hundreds of pillows, black for Friday, and white for Saturday. We also got the opportunity to work with a few of the alcohol sponsors Veuve Clicquot, Chandon, Belvedere.

It was quite the experience, and even though we had less than two weeks to pull everything together, the final result was amazing! Pictures from the Pros to come.

Put the Fun back into Fundraising!

I had the opportunity to plan another fundraiser for the Mesa Family YMCA. This year's theme was; Showcase Showdown, A Game Night Extravaganza! We recreated game shows with the guests as the contestants and let me tell you it was hilarious! We had a tiny budget so we utilized volunteers to help decorate but over all I think it turned out great and people had loads of fun. To top it off we raised a lot of money for the Mesa Family YMCA. Here are a few shots I have to share.
Thanks to Ginia at YKnot Party Rentals for helping us with the cheesy game show staging and gold mylar. It was everywhere! It was so Price is Right!

The centerpieces were each themed after a game board. The top one was a "Junior Scrabble", middle was "The Hulk Game Board", and the lower one was "Sorry". Notice that she even made coordinating napkin rings with the games pieces. They turned out beautiful and were done by one of The Y's Volunteers and Sponsors, Mrs. Patti Barna.

A few more examples her her lovely work pictured above.
We had a great auction with items such as a Helicopter Ride to Gwen Stefani Tickets and our volunteers worked diligently to pull all the pieces together.

A great idea and fundraiser is to do a Live Dessert Auction at your next fundraiser. It's crazy that people pay several hundred dollars or more when it comes to a sweet tooth. It was a big hit!

A few of our supporters and guests.

Thanks again to all that came and supported the event. If you are interested in donating your time next year to be on the planning committee shoot me an email. It's for a great cause!

Denim & Diamonds

Here are a few pictures that were taken from an event I did a few weekends ago. It was a first for the ladies to hire and event planner so I hope they were all pleased. We raised a lot of money with some teamwork and creative minds, plus we got to wear jeans!! Congrats to all the Sirrine Auxiliary members for their hard work and dedication!

I met Wonder Woman

My next blog I promise to tell you all about the amazing event fundraiser with Florence Crittenton but I do have to mention that I got the chance to hand with their Keynote Speaker...Mrs. Lynda Carter aka Wonder Woman. She was so nice and to my surprise very tall. Seeing that her show seemed so long ago I was surprised on how beautiful and youthful she looked. Did you know that she is half Mexican? I had no idea, but being a half myself I was so "power to the people". Thanks Lynda for your commitment to the community and it was great to meet you!
