Welcome to Paradise - Montelucia Resort & Spa

Welcome to InterContinental Montelucia Resort & Spa in Paradise Valley, Arizona. Kristine & I had the pleasure, along with other valley event planners, of taking a personal tour of this breathtaking new venue in Arizona. They are still in construction but are officially opening very very soon. This resort truly encompasses all aspects of a dream wedding location. With it's amazing chapel, Castillo Lucena, to the breathtaking ballrooms like the Valencia Ballroom, Alhambra Ballroom or their magnificent gardens.

Here are a few pictures from our tour:

(above) Managing Director, Valeriano Antonioli, explaining the venue's design,
layout and mission of this Intercontinental Resort.

(above) This was a mock up of one of the guest rooms.

(above) Such a spacious and spa like guestroom powder room.

(above 3 pictures) The passionate owner, raving about all the thought
that went into every detail of this venue. A dream of his for several years.

(above) Here is a view of Camelback Mountain from the Spa terrace.

(above) The before picture of one of their ballrooms. I can't wait for the final product.

(above) A second smaller more intimate ballroom.

I am very excited to work with this venue and present this as a possibility to Life Design Event Planning clients. All the best to all of you at the resort and many thanks to Mr. Antonioli, Dennis, Jodee, Penny, Kirk & Courtney for rolling out the red carpet for us. I can't even imagine the service they will give their clients! Outstanding for sure!

For more information about the resort or if you are interested in learning more about holding your wedding festivities there click here for their website.

Tangerine Dreams after Party

It's a little hard to read the text but basically it's an after party for Docha Vida, a wedding walk in downtown Chandler. I wish I could attend because it is so fun and there are so many outstanding vendors involved. I will be away in California for a wedding so make sure to stop by and support the festivities. The above is an invitation to attend the after party at Inspirador. It starts at 9:00. Have fun and tell the Life Design's sent you.

Sassi Open House

Sassi is having an open house Sunday June 1st from 10am to 1pm. Check out this awesome venue, it may be exactly what you are looking for for your wedding day.

One of the places that you can use for your ceremony or reception is Sassi's outdoor garden lawn area. They also have a private event room with two fireplaces, wood beam ceilings, an intimate foyer, and private chambers for the bride. The private event room includes a covered patio overlooking the courtyard with views of Pinnacle Peak.

The Sassi garden lawn and private event room accommodate up to 150 guests. At Sassi, the overall atmosphere was handcrafted to provide the ideal location for rehearsal dinners and weddings. Breathtaking Views from "Different Pointe of View" Restaurant

Yesterday I visited the Different Pointe of View restaurant at the Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs Resort in Phoenix. They just did over $750,000 of recent enhancements to the restaurant and it is expected that the classic venue is going to be a huge local and regional wedding destination. Whether you are inside the restaurant where there are floor to ceiling windows or on the outdoor patio, you get to see 360 degrees of breathtaking views. There was a wedding ceremony set up on the outdoor patio yesterday (picture above) which made the vision of a wedding there more of a reality. What a great atmosphere for a wedding!

Photography by Verdi and Our Trip to Royal Palms

We recently met with new to the area photographers named Photography by Verdi at the Royal Palms Resort and Spa. They are a husband and wife photography team based out of New York and Arizona. They have had a studio in New York but recently moved to Arizona to open another studio and live here for about six months out of every year. The couple has photographed everything from models for print and parties for celebrity clientele, to family and wedding photos. They said they like to capture shots that are filled with expression. They capture real, emotional moments with their photos. These two are a great pair, extremely friendly and easy to talk to and be around. You can just tell by being around them that they would do a magnificent job connecting with clients to capture their vision for their wedding.

After we met with Photography by Verdi we ate lunch at the restaurant located at the Royal Palms, T. Cook’s Dining. T. Cook’s Dining was recently voted #1 Phoenix restaurant by ‘Zagat’s Top US Hotel and Restaurant Guide.’ The food was amazing! We ordered Mediterranean Tapas where you could design your own personal dish by choosing four different entrees. The serving size was smaller than most restaurants but it was just the right amount to food to fill you up. We highly recommend this restaurant for its elegant atmosphere and its delicious dishes!

"Colorful Carlisle" Inspired by Life Design Event Planning

In my last post I wrote about an Open House and Trunk Show at Inspirador. I gladly accepted the opportunity to showcase a table display so I choose a brand new unique linen, some fun colorful monkey ornaments and the inspiration began. Below is a break down of a few details from the table display. Thank you to all vendors assisting me with the display of our collaborated talents.

"Colorful Carlisle" Inspired by Life Design Event Planning

Design Board: Where the plans began for the total vision. It's so important to pull all of your pieces together in one element. This helps to bring all aspects of your design together to make sure that it matches and/or flows.

Candy Tables are all the rave within wedding and event trends right now. Instead of having the guests serve themselves I had champagne glasses filled with candy for them to pick up in a hurry. No lines at this table!

Menus had a bit of a contemporary feel to them. Rather than everything centered and aligned in a certain style it was off kilter and a little sporadic. Very fun. PS. Notice that J-Lo was to be a guest at my table.

Centerpiece was very fun with an array of orchids and feathers along with a few other surprises. I love that it was encased in an over sized snifter.

The glassware helps bring in just the right amount of pop with the overall look and colors in the design. It was very dramatic.

Mrs. Seal will sit here.

I was a bit nervous about this table design as it was completely original and out of the ordinary but I was totally relieved when i received an abundance of compliments. Thank you to all that came out and supported the event and it was great meeting and developing new relationships with new friends I met.

Dearest Friends & Family~

It is with deep pleasure I announce to you that Inspirador has FINALLY received its official City of Chandler, AZ Certificate of Occupancy!

I would also like to invite you out to see the beautiful, newly renovated building at our very special Inaugural Open House on Wednesday, November 7th 2007 from 5-9pm.

We would love for you to come out and see us and experience the first of many delights we have in store for you, such as:

  • Tours of the Building, with special "insights" into the Inspirador historical preservation/renovation project.
  • Our very first Artist Reception in TRYST Art Gallery @ Inspirador, held in honor of San Francisco artist, Michael Van Patten. http://www.michaelvanpatten.com/
  • The Lisa Albinger Trunk Show, will be located in our lovely open-air courtyard. Local artist Lisa Albinger (http://www.lisaalbinger.com/) will soon be moving to Portland, Oregon ~ so she is liquidating her inventory here in Arizona, so that she may move on to the next chapter in her amazing career as an artist. Don't miss out on the very cool deals!

Be Inspired at Inspirador

It so refreshing to work with people in our industry that have so much passion for what they do and are not afraid to share it with others. Meet the wonderful ladies of Inspirador a great new venue in historic downtown Chandler. It is sure to be a breathtaking venue for not only weddings and events but for art, nature, community and creativity. Above you will see a slide show of renderings but like so many, including myself, we are so very excited to feel & touch of the "real thing" open it's opening night. I congratulate Dilia & Amy on their dedication to the construction and witty enthusiasm with relentless questions to the venue's status. I admire the both of you and feel blessed to have you as friends.

To learn more about Inspirador or to contact them about inquires on their new venue visit and also be updated by reading their blog.
